I am a UX Designer and Writer, shaping a humanistic approach to technology design.

I have 4 years of experience developing online content, with a focus on sustainability and systems thinking.

I'm passionate about creating sustainable systems through the design of technology. I'm curious about how digital landscapes change human interaction—person to person and with the planet. I like to think about future technologies' impact.

At Virginia Tech, I studied literature and technical writing with a few CS classes thrown in there for good measure. This coursework was a segue into UX for me—my first internship involved working with a developer to set product requirements and sketch wireframes.

Technical education and practice informed my thesis paper on bridging the gap between humanities and engineering—something I see as essential for sustaining life on this planet.

A semester of study in Lugano, Switzerland focused on Marketing, Society, and the Public Interest, followed by a summer of writing educational content for a leading sustainability management software company solidified my commitment always to consider the triple-bottom-line of People, Planet, and Profit.

Post-graduation, I entered a PR agency where I developed relationships, advocated for changes in procedure, strategized content, and flexed my creativity through art direction and visual design for clients.

With my experiences and interests at the intersection of humanities, design, and a positive impact on people, a UX Design profession is a logical next step in my career. I decided to enroll in Thinkful's UX/UI Design Immersion program because I know the ethos of life-long learning is instilled in the field—and I'm committed to that.
